- Kino grew paranoid that someone will come and steal from him until it came true. It drove him mad and he ended up killing the guy. Juana began to see the pearl as a charm of bad luck. So she tried get rid of it. However Kino didn't allow this and she beat her own wife. Ever threw all that Juana still stuck by him.
- The day after that there home began to burn down. That's when it finally hit Kino that the pearl had to be sold now.They hurried away and tried hiding from the "cops". They kid in Kinos brothers home for a bit until the canoe was fixed. The next morning they were out. As they made their way to a dealer the cops caught up. They hid but Coyotito was crying. It alerted the cops and they shot towards the sound and killed Coyotito.
- The pain that Juana and Kino were feeling made them return back to their village. Everyone looked at them in awe. As hey had their baby in the other arm. Kino finally released the pearl back into the ocean. The lesson taught to kino was to no become greedy and do the most for prosperity. Maybe it's just not meant to be.
