- We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating: for whites only.
- The rhetorical appeal is appeal to emotion. He uses the children as something to be vulnerable about. He used this so the audience felt bad that children of color aren't able to do what all other children are doing because of their race.

- This note was a promise that all men — yes, Black men as well as white men — would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
- The rhetorical appeal he uses is appeal to logic. He uses the Declaration of Independence to site his evidence that all men are equal, have rights of life;liberty and the happiness every other men has. This helps the audience see that they do deserve the rights as every other man and women in the country.
- The rhetorical appeal is appeal to credibility. Martin Luther King was a pastor, so him referring to God is credibility. The audience would know that he is a pastor and realize why it is so important for the justice of all, because of his teachings of the bible and God. The part of the audience that is religious would understand what he is saying and it would be credible for his argument.
